Operational Responsibilities :1. Participate in the drainage design and networks activities for all PWA governed projects in coordination with the Engineering Designs Advisor / Expert and the Engineering Works Department.2. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely identification and delivery of key drainage infrastructure and upgrade projects in accordance with the drainage master plan.3. Coordinate with the Engineering Designs Advisor / Expert and initiate the conversion of the drainage master plan into programs/ projects to be executed by the Project Delivery Team. Ensure that the programs/ projects to be delivered are aligned and meet the overall criteria and technical requirements of the drainage master plan.4. Prepare drainage networks plans in alignment with the overall drainage master plan. Consult with the Engineering Designs Advisor / Expert on any issues identified for resolution.5. Ensure that relevant drainage project plans and the corresponding drainage models and specifications are in place and understood by the project delivery team.6. Provide assistance in evaluating, selecting and appointing drainage design consultants for all drainage related programs/ projects. This should be in coordination with the whole Drainage Networks Design Section.7. Identify design related risks during pre-planning and coordinate with the relevant Engineering Designs Advisors / Experts within the Department and Design Engineers for establishing appropriate controls to mitigate the risks as and when required.8. As and when required, attend progress meetings with consultants/ contractors and other design professionals, to assess progress of designs/ construction.9. Work closely with the Engineering Designs Advisor / Expert to ensure compliance with PWA’s Design Policies, Processes and Procedures.10. Keep the Drainage Networks Design Section Head and the Engineering Designs Advisor / Expert informed of significant design issues that may jeopardize the achievement of the Ashghal goals.11. Keep current with latest market trends and developments, and stay abreast with current trends and leading practices in design/ approaches/ tools focused in planning of drainage assets. Stay abreast of changes in the Qatar Codes/ any other applicable standards.
