Job Overview:
Responsible for executing and supervising a wide range of civil engineering tasks related to infrastructure, construction, and maintenance projects. The technician will also provide technical support to engineers and work closely with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure the smooth progress of civil activities on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise civil work activities including excavation, concreting, masonry, structural steel, roadwork, and finishing.
- Ensure construction work is done in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Conduct routine site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
- Report any deviations or non-conformities and propose corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project engineers, consultants, contractors, and other disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical) for site-related activities.
- Assist in planning daily work schedules and material/resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, materials received/used, and workforce deployment.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly site reports.
- Ensure all civil works are executed following company and site-specific HSE regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks and enforce site safety rules.
- Support the civil engineering team in the preparation of design reviews, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Review and interpret civil/structural drawings, shop drawings, and bar bending schedules.
- Provide civil support for existing infrastructure maintenance such as buildings, drainage systems, pavements, etc.
Education:
Diploma in Civil Engineering
