Job Summary:
Estimation Engineer develops accurate cost breakdowns for projects by analysing plans, materials, labor, and resources, preparing detailed proposals, supporting bids, and collaborating with teams to ensure budgets and timelines are met, requiring strong analytical skills and knowledge of relevant software and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, specs, and documents to define scope, assumptions, and requirements.
- Calculate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and services, often using estimation software.
- Create detailed commercial and technical proposals, Bills of Materials (BOQ), and tender documents.
- Work with project managers, clients, vendors, and internal teams to gather data and clarify scope.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses, optimize budgets, and manage cost risks.
- Prepare cost reports, financial trends, and performance data for stakeholders.
- Assist with technical compliance during final design, procurement, and construction.
- Installation of Poles, line accessories, Transformers, Mini Pillars, Underground Cabling Etc.
- Overhead & Underground works in Power Distribution and substation works.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, etc.) or related field.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in Electrical projects mainly Distribution networks up to 69 KV.
Typical Sectors
Construction & Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Electrical & Mechanical (MEP), and Low Voltage Systems (ELV/IBMS).
Skills
- Proficiency in estimation software, CAD, MS Project/Primavera, and strong spreadsheet skills.
- Understanding of construction processes, relevant codes, and specific systems (HVAC, ELV, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
