About the Role:We are seeking a highly experienced Lifting & Rigging Supervisor to lead and supervise all on-site lifting and rigging operations. The ideal candidate will ensure that all lifts are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved procedures, while managing rigging crews and coordinating with crane operators and project teams.Key Responsibilities:•On-site Supervision: Direct and supervise all lifting and rigging activities on-site, ensuring adherence to approved lift plans and safety standards.•Team Leadership: Manage rigging crews, assign tasks, and ensure all personnel are qualified, competent, and follow safe work practices.•Pre-lift Meetings: Conduct pre-lift toolbox talks and safety briefings with the lifting team, crane operators, and signalers.•Equipment Inspection: Perform daily inspections of rigging gear, lifting equipment, and cranes to ensure they are safe and certified for use.•Lift Execution: Oversee the setup of rigging arrangements, slinging of loads, and execution of lifts—including complex, critical, and tandem lifts.•Compliance: Ensure all lifting operations comply with company procedures, LOLER regulations, and international standards (BS, ISO, API).•Documentation: Maintain daily lifting logs, inspection records, and lift completion reports.•Incident Response: Take immediate corrective action in case of unsafe practices or incidents; participate in incident investigations.•Coordination: Liaise with the Lifting Engineer, Project Manager, and client representatives to ensure smooth execution of lifting activities.•Training: Mentor and train junior riggers and lifting personnel.
Qualifications & Experience:•Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in lifting and rigging supervision within marine, offshore, or heavy construction environments.Proven experience in:•Offshore and marine heavy lifts•Tandem lifting operations•Rigging for module installations and vessel cargo operations•Strong understanding of crane operations, load charts, and rigging configurations.•Previous supervisory role with responsibility for rigging teams.Required Certifications:•LEEA/OPITO Rigging & Lifting Supervisor Certification•Valid offshore certifications (BOSIET/FOET, HUET, CA-EBS)•Crane Supervisor / Appointed Person certification (preferred)•NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent safety certification•First Aid/CPR certificationTechnical Skills:•Ability to read and interpret lift plans and engineering drawings.•Familiarity with rigging equipment inspection standards.•Experience with permit-to-work systems and risk assessments.•Strong communication and leadership skills.
