We are seeking a skilled Jewellery CAD Designer to support our manufacturing operations by creating precise, production-ready CAD models. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in jewellery construction, stone setting, and manufacturing feasibility, with hands-on experience working closely with workshops and craftsmen.
- Develop accurate CAM-ready 3D CAD models for rings, bangles, pendants, bracelets, earrings, and custom designs.
- Produce manufacturing-ready files (STL/3DM) suitable for 3D printing, casting, stone setting, and finishing.
- Work directly with the production team, setters, and goldsmiths to ensure CAD outputs are feasible for manufacturing.
- Create detailed technical drawings including stone layouts, dimensions, metal weights, and setting instructions.
- Adjust CAD models based on feedback from craftsmen, QC teams, and designers.
- Prepare renders and visualisations for production confirmation or client approvals.
- Maintain an organised library of CAD files, technical specifications, and design documentation.
- Troubleshoot design issues and propose improvements to enhance manufacturability.
- Ensure all designs follow company standards for quality, durability, and finishing.
Skills
2+ years experience as a Jewellery CAD Designer in a jewellery manufacturing company (mandatory).
Proficiency in:
Strong technical knowledge of:
- Jewellery production processes (casting, filing, soldering, setting)
- Gold weight optimisation
- Stone setting techniques (pavé, prong, channel, micro-setting)
- 3D printing tolerances and casting limitations
- Ability to deliver clean, precise, production-oriented CAD files.
- Portfolio of previous manufacturing-focused CAD work is required.
