Responsibilities
- Review and accurately dispense prescriptions to patients according to state and federal regulations.
- Provide detailed information on medications and their proper usage to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain strict inventory control of all medications and supplies within the pharmacy.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmaceutical laws and guidelines.
- Safeguard and ensure the safe handling of controlled drugs and substances.
- Oversee and manage pharmacy technicians, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Collaborate actively with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication plans.
- Conduct regular health screenings and administer immunizations where permitted by law.
- Develop and implement policies to improve pharmacy services and operations.
- Monitor prescription details to prevent harmful drug interactions or overmedication issues.
- Submit accurate paperwork and documentation for all pharmaceutical transactions and operations.
- Engage in continual education to stay updated with emerging pharmaceutical practices and policies.
Skills
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or a Pharm.D. from an accredited institution.
- State licensure as a Pharmacist, in good standing and without past infractions.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terms, dosage calculations, and interactions.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a busy pharmacy environment.
- Commitment to observing confidentiality and ethical practice standards consistently.
- Experience with pharmacy management software and technology systems preferred.
