Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS)
- Monitor database performance and optimize queries
- Implement backup and recovery procedures
- Ensure data security and integrity
- Manage user access and privileges
- Plan and implement database upgrades and patches
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide 24/7 support when needed
- Document database architecture and procedures
Required Skills:
- Technical: SQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, MongoDB
- Database backup/recovery tools
- Performance tuning and optimization
- Knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows Server)
- Scripting languages (Python, Shell, PowerShell)
- Understanding of storage systems and RAID configurations
