Our client, a diversified trading and retail group operating within the FMCG sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to independently manage and oversee the full accounting function for their operations. This is a stand-alone role, ideal for a highly capable accounting professional who is confident working with senior leadership while also taking responsibility for the day-to-day financial activities of the business.This position requires someone who is hands-on, meticulous, and experienced in handling multi-entity accounting and inventory-heavy environments typical of trading, retail, and FMCG industries.Key Responsibilities•Manage the end-to-end accounting cycle, including daily entries, reconciliations, and month/year-end closing.•Prepare, review, and present financial statements, management reports, and cash flow summaries.•Handle VAT filing and compliance across all business operations.•Oversee inventory accounting, cost control, and stock reconciliation within a trading/retail/FMCG environment.•Lead and manage the payroll process for the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UAE regulations.•Coordinate with external auditors and prepare all supporting documentation for the annual audit process.•Implement internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.•Act as the primary financial contact for management, providing insights, recommendations, and analysis.•Manage supplier payments, receivables, bank reconciliations, and cash flow tracking.•Support business performance monitoring by generating accurate and timely reports.
To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certifications (CPA, CMA, ACCA) are an advantage.•5–7 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably within trading, retail, or FMCG sectors•Solid experience handling stand-alone accounting roles and managing full accounting operations independently.•Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, VAT, payroll, and financial reporting.•Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with minimal supervision.•Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel.•Strong English communication skills; Arabic speaking is highly preferred.•Must be willing to work onsite in Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi.
