Job PurposeThe Odoo Developer is responsible for designing, customising, implementing, and providing ongoing support for the Odoo ERP platform to meet the operational, academic, and regulatory requirements of a Medical University in Dubai. The role ensures effective support for academic administration, student lifecycle management, faculty affairs, finance, HR, procurement, research administration, and integration with healthcare-related systems, while complying with UAE regulatory and data-protection requirements.Key Responsibilities – Odoo Development & Customisation- Customise and extend Odoo modules using Python, XML, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL- Develop custom modules for admissions, academics, finance, HR, procurement, and research- Optimise workflows, forms, dashboards, and reportsSystem Implementation & Integration- Configure and deploy Odoo across academic and administrative departments- Integrate with LMS, SIS, HR/payroll, and reporting tools- Support data migration, upgrades, and version controlAcademic & Regulatory Alignment- Ensure alignment with UAE higher-education and medical education requirements- Support accreditation, inspections, audits, and governance reportingSupport, Maintenance & Documentation- Provide ongoing system support and troubleshooting- Prepare technical documentation and user guides- Collaborate with academic, finance, HR, and IT stakeholdersSecurity & Data Protection- Implement access controls and user roles- Ensure compliance with UAE data-protection standards
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field- 3–5 years of hands-on Odoo development experienceTechnical Skills- Strong knowledge of Odoo framework and architecture- Proficiency in Python, XML, JavaScript, PostgreSQL- Experience with APIs and system integrationsDesired Skills- Experience in medical universities, hospitals, or academic institutions- Familiarity with UAE regulatory or accreditation environmentsSoft Skills- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities- Excellent communication and stakeholder management- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
