Responsibilities
Our newest opportunity is for a talented Resident Engineer - Infrastructure to join our award-winning team based in Riyadh, KSA.
The Resident Engineer (RE) will serve as the primary site-based technical authority overseeing all construction activities for a major housing development in Riyadh. This role requires deep expertise in infrastructure works, precast systems, and large-scale residential construction. The RE will ensure that all works are executed in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and the client's expectations for quality, safety, and schedule.
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Supervising day-to-day site activities across infrastructure, utilities, precast elements, and housing structures.
- Reviewing and approving shop drawings, method statements, ITPs, and material submittals.
- Monitoring construction progress to ensure compliance with design, specifications, and project timelines.
- Leading inspections for civil, structural, and infrastructure works, including roads, drainage, water networks, electrical duct banks, and precast installations.
- Coordinating with design teams to resolve technical issues and provide timely engineering solutions.
- Enforcing strict adherence to quality standards, project specifications, and applicable codes (Saudi Building Code, international standards).
- Ensuring proper installation and handling of precast components, including lifting, alignment, and connection details.
- Overseeing testing and commissioning of infrastructure systems.
- Maintaining accurate records of inspections, NCRs, and corrective actions.
- Acting as the primary liaison between the client, contractor, subcontractors, and the consultancy's project management team.
- Participating in progress meetings, technical workshops, and coordination sessions.
- Providing clear reporting on progress, risks, and site challenges.
Qualifications
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 15 years plus work experience partnered with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent. Eight years of your career will have been focused purely on infrastructure projects.
Infrastructure works, precast systems, and large-scale residential construction are essential requirements for this role.
